CORNDAWG says: Sandwich, refills, yawn. Not inspiring to me.

PT says: Speaking of better options, you've got it at Philadelphia Mike's. The Chicken Cheese Steak is slammin'. What's so slammin' you ask? Any good sandwich needs good bread and this bread is soft and delicious. The chicken, cheese, sweet peppers, mushrooms and onions are plentiful and not too hot. The balance of ingredients is on the money, no empty bites in this cheesesteak, people. And the 8" sub could feed more than a few toddlers. Throw in the seasoned french fries and fountain soda and you're lookin' at a tasty treat of a lunch. Did I mention the free refills and service with a smile?

BARBACOA says: I love a good cheese steak. If you saw me, even from afar, this would be immediately evident. I've had steaks on South Street, and all over the mid-Atlantic, where they would consider themselves the epicenter of the steak world. Philly Mike's does a great job coming close to that signature combination of a soft, tasty roll, steak that's lean and really flavorful, cheese that isn't overpowering but influences the sandwich a great deal nonetheless and a host of simple toppings, like onions, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato & peppers; not over the top. All of the criteria here is met, and they have kick-ass seasoned fries to boot. Oh, and free refills too. This is a gutbuster joint, though, and the large size subs are a bit too much (just ask me how I know). Don't go to Philly Mike's if you want to eat healthy becasue temptation's a bitch and I know you won't be able to resist those steaks!

Corndawg here. I'm calling BS on my fellow reviewers. Did Philly Mike throw some cash their way? I know these suckers like cheese steaks, and onions and peppers and all the crap that ruins a sandwich, but seriously, these glowing reviews are as ridiculous as the length of this sentence.
ReplyDeleteMake the sandwich round and it's Arby's. It's good, but not that good. Get real, jokers. Slammin? That's a little over the top (which by the way, was Stallone's best movie!)
